Generations of Inspiration
Meet my 83-year-young mother, Mary Jane—the reason I now stand before a wall of my paintings in a gallery. Growing up with a prolific and successful artist as my mother was nothing short of inspiring. For over four decades, she was not only my role model but the foundation of my creative journey.
I remember coming home from grade school, grabbing a snack, and heading down to her basement studio. I’d sit on her paint-splattered stool, sharing my day’s woes while watching her create. Painting, shipping her work, attending gallery openings—it was simply the rhythm of life I grew up with.
Even now, I turn to her for honest feedback on my art, knowing her wisdom and candid advice will always guide me. Standing beside her at my recent artist opening was a deeply meaningful moment—a full-circle reflection of the legacy she’s passed on to me.
